2) WHS duties (NSW)
PCBUs
- DJC Technical Services: PCBU for production volunteers; provides safe systems of work, plant, workplace, training and supervision.
- FutureProof: PCBU for bands/artists.
- Addi Road: PCBU for the venue and its systems.
- All PCBUs must consult, cooperate and coordinate (s46).
Workers (including volunteers)
- Take reasonable care of your own safety and that of others.
- Follow reasonable instructions and procedures.
- Report hazards, near misses and incidents to the PM immediately.
- Stop work and seek guidance if a task is unsafe.
Notifiable incidents (death, serious injury/illness, dangerous incident) must be reported to SafeWork NSW and the site preserved except to assist an injured person or make the site safe. Notify the PM immediately.
3) Site rules
General
- Attend the toolbox brief and follow PM instructions.
- Fit for work: no alcohol/drugs; manage fatigue; disclose medication that may affect safety.
- PPE: closed footwear; high-vis where vehicles operate; hearing protection when directed.
- Housekeeping: keep exits and egress clear; tape or cover cable runs; clean spills immediately.
- Public interface (youth event): maintain professional boundaries; separate work zones from the public; no moving heavy loads through audience areas without controls.
First aid & emergencies
- Know the first aid contact and kit location; AED if available.
- Emergency exits must remain clear at all times.
- Muster point: Gumbramorra Hall car park.
- For serious incidents: call 000 and inform the PM.
Addi Road specific
- Access during booked hours only. Site gates close Sun-Thu 10:30pm and Fri-Sat 12:00am; coordinate after-hours access with the PM.
- Noise: follow PM and venue directions; reduce levels immediately if directed.
- Smoking: no smoking in buildings.
- Parking: observe signs; no parking on grassed areas, footpaths or driveways.
4) Minimum controls by hazard
Electrical
- Use tested and tagged equipment; visually inspect before use.
- Protect cables from crushing, water and trip hazards; elevate or mat across walkways.
- RCD protection on portable tools and distro outlets; do not bypass.
- No DIY repairs; report shocks or damage immediately.
Manual handling
- Plan the path; clear obstacles; use trolleys/dollies where possible.
- Team lift heavy or awkward items; keep load close; avoid twisting.
Working at heights / rigging
- Only competent personnel install or adjust flown equipment.
- Maintain exclusion zones below; no working under suspended loads.
- Use rated ladders correctly; maintain three points of contact.
Slips, trips and access
- Keep egress clear; keep cable runs tidy; use mats/ramps where needed.
- Report floor defects or liquids; clean spills promptly.
Noise
- Wear hearing protection for checks and loud acts when directed.
- Warn others before sudden loud noise (line checks, sirens, sweeps).
Heat and hydration
- Stay hydrated; take short breaks as approved by the PM.
- Report heat stress symptoms early (dizziness, nausea, cramps).
